Well, I finally got around to testing out my IBM 60GXP's and lo and behold one of them has bad sectors... Normally, I'd give the company a second chance, but considering I had cooling on them and the bad press on their drives, I'm not gonna buy another IBM. Too risky.
never bought a IBM hard drive before, Only either buy Maxtore or Seagate! Even though I have had some problems with Maxtore, I think they are very good.
Yes, Maxtor is pretty good, and their RMA process has also been a no hassle for me. I'm not sure what I'll do. I'd like to go SCSI but that's gonna be about $300 at least. I'd also like to snag one of those Western Digital drives with the 8meg cache. Hopefully, I might even be able to get them to send me one. Oh, BTW, speaking of hard drives, I got an e-mail back from Maxtor. They said they're declining to send me one, but they will be checking up on the site.
at least they will keep and eye on our site! anyway, Western Digital are also a good company, currently you can get 100GB 7200 Western Digital Hard Drive for around £120 which isn't that bad! thats like £1.20 for one gig!!!
