Irritating Standby Problem

    SPECS:
    video card: inno3d 64M
    cd rom: sony 52x
    hard disk: maxtor 30 something gigs
    operating system: WIN XP
    RAM: 256 MB pc 133 SDRAM
    processor: celeron 1 point somethings
    motherboard: ECS P4VXASD2
    ------------------
    My Computer goes on standby no matter what program is running.

    It goes on standby even if I turn auto-standby off in the power options

    It goes on standby even if I do nothing.

    It goes on standby in random intervals

    Have you disabled hibernation?

    yup mate.

    the trouble is, definitely hardware since i even reinstalled my OS

    Got Service Pack 1? If not, get that if you don't have it. If that's too big, I believe there's a patch concerning hibernation on the Windows Update site.

    GO TO POWER SETTINGS IN CONTROL PANNEL, MAKE SURE THAT AUTO STANDBY IS OFF!, IT IS SET TO 20 MINUTES BY DELFAULT!!

    try using different drivers, to see it that helps, I remeber reading someone having a similar problem and was sorted with a driver change.
