Hey guys thought I'd show you my new shiny screen & setup yup finally those 19'' & 17'' crt's are off of my desk - so much space! its this: OcUK Value L2442WD-TN 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black (Open Box Product) I know lots of people have had problems with this (100+ page thread on the overclockers forums about TA vs VA panels) but very lukily mine is pwerfect! (and it is a TN too ^^) not a single dead pixel and negligible backlight bleed... and just under 200 squid delivered! P.s. don't look at my keyboard - my logitech took another dose of heinz tomato soup and is awaiting its turn in the sonic bath at work. Apologies for photo quality - cameraphone
And I have now put a massive dent in the front of it with a result of a dead pixel when i was popping a cd drive blank out of a new case Guess i'll have to find a different desk to build computers on from now on
Hi ferg ain't seen you on forums in a while anyways nice screen just curious to know can your 8800GTS play games on good quality settings. At 24 inch what is the resolution 1920x1200??? Btw i can see you got two desks, if you need a big desk then you should go to IKEA they got some massive computer/office desks i got mine for £80 and it's huge JONAS Desk
Yeah the res is 1920x1200 (wuxga) Well i wont lie to you, i wish i'd stumped up the extra 50 squid to get the 640 meg version and not my 320 meg (when i bought my gts it cost me about £220 anyway!) but yeah it can still hold it's own, just finished crysis last night at full res - just had to tune it down a bit but not too much, oh and put another 2gb of pc6400 in the other day - that helped too Oblivion runs good at full res as well. WoW runs at the frame limiter constantly (60fps) with everything at max All this from a slightly old pc that still cost me only £750 and a 3dmark 06 score of only 9557
That's good to hear nice, but mind you Crysis and Oblivion are badly written games they feast on computers 640mb 8800GTS would have been a wiser choice.
