So uhm, I bought this computer about 2 years ago (having updated only the gfx so far) and about 3/4 months ago its been restarting itself. At first it wasnt very common. Maybe one time within 2 weeks it would randomly restart. I didn't see it as a real problem then so I just kept on without doing nothing. Recently though, it's been attacking more often, having at least two random restarts ever single day, at no particular moment, either playing or just surfing the net or w/e.. Let me give you my specs before I jump into what i've done so far: Intel E6400 Dual Core Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 2GB Corsair DDRII800 WD 250GB SATAII EVGA Nvidia 8800GT 1GB LC Power 550W Dual Rail I checked my CPU for overheating at first. Temperatures were around 56º up to 65º while playing. Pretty high I know. I got more thermal paste in the processor and cooler (which had dryed off cause the guys on the store who mounted my pc didnt screw the cooler properly..) and temperatures are now between 48º-52º which shouldn't be a problem I guess, unless my cpu might already be damaged.. I also ran memtest to check the memories and it didn't give me any errors at all. I even changed them from slots 1-3 to 2-4 with no improvements... Voltages are normal, I never OC'ed anything. GFX temps are at 43ºC I formatted my PC recently but the restarts kept on going, so it's really hardware. Power supply? It's weird though.. Cause if it really was a power supply problem, wouldn't it restart more frequently? It's just 1 or 2 restarts per day, which still piss me off cause It has happened while playing.
