just wanted to know why manufacturers are not sizing their SSD's to 3.25"?
You mean 3,5''? Why they should? You can easilly make SSD 2,5'' so why make it bigger?
For bigger chips thus more space
They don't need to make them this big because they can get the amount of space they need fitted into the 2.5". I imagine this cuts down on production costs. You can always fit a 2.5" into a bracket and make it 3.5" for desktop computers, but you couldn't make a 3.5" fit into a laptop.
