I am upgrading my computer gradually rather than buying everything at once. I use an AMD processor but want to switch to Intel i5 or i7 eventually. I am having FPS problems in a video game called TERA Online which I was told is a game that relies heavily on the CPU's performance, rather than on the video card. Which component of my computer can I upgrade to see the biggest difference in FPS performance? RAM, GPU, CPU, Motherboard? I think my RAM is pretty bad, it is 4 GB single channel, and while I have TERA Online running, I only have 100-200 MB of RAM left. I know that running out of RAM effects multitasking between programs, but does it have an effect on Frames per Second in a video game? So, which piece of my hardware is the most likely culprit for low FPS (like 10-15 FPS during fights)? Does having more RAM assist in higher FPS? Here is my system shown by Piriform Speccy:
