Automatics can be better off road apparently, I assume because there is no chance of slipping the clutch. Id imagine they are better for 2mph traffic jams too because they will roll forward simply by letting go of the break plus they are far smoother gear changes so are ideal for chauffeuring, provided you cant hear the engine. Id never buy one though! Manual all the way. ive just noticed there are three pages of replies! I thought this was a new topic :stars:
well, manuals are sweet cause they are super simple, and they last real long because shifting is just from gear to gear, no jumping around or craziness thats in a auto. Plus manuals are a lot more fun and regardless of the car your are driving they make it sweeter. Also, cheaper to fix than auto should anything go wrong. Plus you can get better gas mileage with a manual as well, save the brakes a little if you down shift.
May i share part of a conversation i had a few years back with a friend whilst i was driving and he was in thew back seat at night..... Will: "Tech 1709 ....is this car an automatic?" Me: "yes will." Will:" wow! I just thought your gear changes were incredibly smooth" Me"hahahahahaha" Priceless :chk: However back to the question. Definitely a manual. A young man in the fullness of youth should not be seen driving a car designed for the over 60's
girls and lazy people drive Autos Boys and Vin diesel drive manuals i dont drive any cuz i smashed my lancer into a concrete bay at 70km an hour while being a D head *lesson here? DONT BE A D HEAD while driving*
I say Manual all the way. Here are the reasons why: 1) More control over what your car is doing. 2) They tend to be cheaper then automatics (depends on what your buying). 3) The more "sporty" your car is the more fun you will have in a manual. 4) I seem to get better miles per gallon in a manual then i do automatic. 5) If you know how to drive a manual you can drive every car but people who don't know how to drive manuals must drive automatics. There are downsides too, but for me the benefits really outweigh the downsides
Yeh........you always need a bigger engine in an automatic to do the same work 'cause they bleed power
