I've been back for a week and there has been like 20 new or replied to threads. There used to be 30 or so a day when I was a regular. Where is everyone?
Forum activity depends on members really, some users post more than others, new members join old members leave etc plus few other things e.g. other tech forums.
As regulars become more competent, they have less computer problems... so they make less regular posts. Kind of a catch-22 really, unless they stick around to help others.
Don't know where everyone else is, but it's great to see so many familiar names still here! I've missed you guys!
A lot of us are just at that age in life where life is crazy, ie, Higher Education, or just getting into life after graduation, but yeah, HWF is a little bit empty lately. What can you do though, it'll swing back, i have faith.
We have on seasons and off seasons, like everything in life. Just wait until after the winter holidays when everybody's got a new PC... If the world doesn't end before then
When I joined there was more than that...probably closer to 70-80 a day...but as Anti-Trend said people move on... but...I think the big issue is social networks/communities like Facebook, MySpace, StumbleUpon, Digg, etc...have all but replaced forum communities...it seems almost every forum is suffering to some extent... CastleCops even shut it's doors...and I think, if there isn't a renaissance of forum communities, we'll see many more popular forums shut their doors over the next few years. The Internet is changing...and forum communities are dinosaurs on the way to extinction.
