What firewall are you using, and is it easy for you to use..
I am using Bitdefender Pro Plus and it works great..
I have found by installing all kinds of different firewalls,The first thing to do is to test it. The shields up test from Gibson's research works great.. After the test, then you will know if that firewall is any good or not.. Make sure your firewall comes back all in stealth mode. If it does not , then remove it.
these days it is real good to be extra careful..

I don't really care about my firewall much, in linux its of no concern. In windows its not much of a problem either as I have a router, the best type of firewall you can have. Anyway, I run Zonealarm free on windows.

Not so much if you're on dial-up, but for something like DSL & Cable that are always on (unless you turn off the modem), it's a definite, along with an anti-virus. I'm behind a hardware firewall, so I'm not quite concerned about that.

ZoneAlarm and Sygate tend to be pretty good as well, but I've never done extensive testing due to having a hardware firewall.

Zone Alarm Pro, but I only use it for outbound programmes, as I have a hardware firewall aswell.

i use Sygate 5.6 (free) but i'll have to chage it soon, because Sygate were overtaken by Symantec, so go with zonealarm

why do you have to chage firewalls ? You don't have to change just because
they where bought out by Symantec.. I was using Sygate for along time before
I switched over to Bitdefender... Sygate is one of the best firewalls all around,
Less on resources than ZoneAlarm, and a lot easier to uninstall.. I started using Sygate when it first came out and I have almost every version made..
I think that Version 5.5 was there best version....

Because Symantec will release an update that changes it into Bloatware, hogging system resources!

I use Sunbelt Kerio Firewall in Windows because it lets me know about, and control everything that goes on. Most people can't stand it's constant pop-ups, but I like it because I am so paranoid about Windows security

Firestarter is my firewall of choice in Linux. Easy to set up and use, but perhaps not as powerful as others
