I've been trying to put together a socket A system from various parts off and on for a few months, and I've finially got the thing assembeled, it would be great if it worked. I have two 2600+ AMD processors ( I think both of them work) and an M7NCD Biostar motherboard. I've got 2 512 RAM sticks, a PNY 3200 and a samsung 2100. A thermaltake 430 watt power supply. And a Geforce 5600. Anywho, the issue is that when I attempt to boot it, it turns on for less than a second, and then resarts. No post, no anything, just the power light blinking on and off. I have removed and placed a new processor in the board, and it seems correctly seated with the appropriate amount of thermal grease. The bottom of the board is not touching anything, and no inappropriate connections are being made. I am at the end of my rope. Is there something about the biostar board that makes it finicky? It acted the same with an underpowered power supply, but I fixed that and the problem presits. Thanks in advance for any help you could provide.

Sounds Quite possible to me, i was once told that 5% of motherboards are DOA... but then again, 70% of statistics are made up on the spot :p

what happens if you turn it on without a CPU installed? it should beep madly!

Well, the thing does not have a speaker hooked up, and out here in the boondocks, it is not that easy to go out and buy one. I will head out today and try and canabalize something or other. I get no beebs!

Sounds like a DOA mobo then, the underpowered powersupply could of damage it.
