cooler help

    i hav no doubt that it would fit your case, but wat im not so sure about is the northbridge heatsink. its fairly large and the heatsink might get in teh way of the fan.

    what would be the best fan then for conroe core cpu 2.4ghz and that evga nforce 680i motherboard

    the stock fan should be more than adequate if your NOT overclocking, but I did some research, and that fan should fit (provided the fans are facing the heatsink) and should keep you happy.

    i was gonna try and overclock the 2.4 conroe to 2.6

    If that's all, then the stock cooler is more than sufficient.

    A lot of people are hitting 3GHz without much effort on Core 2's. From what I've been reading 3GHz is a "bad" OC for the Core 2's. On air. Stock air cooling. Those with higher-grade cooling will start showing up for OC's past 3.4-3.6GHz, and 4GHz seems to be where the extreme stuff starts kicking in.

    I know these are and in AMD CPU types, but i'm sure they will be available for Intel platforms as well. Also check out the zalman coolers.
