I have ordered my cpu and Gpu which are The E6600 C2D and a Evga 8800gts video card. I was going to order the Evga 680i motherboard but I'm reading bad things about the 680i chipsets. I would like a motherboard that I can upgrade later to a Quad core if the price comes down. I don't know which board to get at this point. Is there any performance gain or loss between the Nvidia chipsets or Intel. Please advise I need to get a board ASAP ? I don't care about the cost as long as it is a quality board. Thanks

Thought I save a little money and I don't play alot of games nor do I overclock any. The only games I play are Tiger Woods 2007 and a couple other sports games. So you think this board will be ok even though it"s for work stations ?Thanks for the help , I've been to a couple other forums and no one seems to want to help.

After reading about all the problems with the 680I , I'm going to look hard at the Intel chipset boards. Are the any made by ASUS that support SLI and the upgradeability to go Quad core later. Thanks for all the help.

I'm a little confused about this board , looking at the specs on ASUS web site it says it supports Crossfire. Can the board support Crossfire and SLI because I'm going to be running Nvidia cards ? Foregive me if this is a stupid question but I'm trying to learn as I go. Thanks

For now looks like I'm screwed as to finding a board that will work . Think I'm going to look at AMD and see what I can build from the AM2 plattform. I know it won't be as fast but at least it will be stable.

I don't have a problem with C2D it's the current motherboards. The main ones I'm talking about is the ones that support Quad core and SLI.

Check as many uk websites as you can, C2D is alot better than AMD 64.

This board wont run an 8800GTS or GTX you need each PCI-E Slot to be x16, so if your going to need to look for a board thats SLI were both PCI-E Slots are X16

Ok I give up is there a Asus board that supports Quad core and to where I can run just one 8800GTS card . I'm willing to forget about SLI since I don't play alot of games anyway.
