Hi everybody, I have a asus drw 1608p3s DVD RW drive. two days ago y tried to watch a movi in a dvd i put it and i cannot read it, the strange thing is that I can read cds, cd-r, cd rw and even data dvd, any but video dvd. I've checked the area and it's ok, also i tried with some dvd i have writed and played before with this recorder. Any ideas? Thanks to all! Sants
Did you set it to the correct region? If you are on windows XP, right click the Drive in my computer, go to properties, then click hardware, then choose the correct drive from there. then click properties, and select the DVD region tab, and obviously tab in the region you want your DVDs played. Warning, i think this can only be changed 5 times per drive, EVER hope it helps
Thats one idea and another idea would be... Try to play DVD in different players... Also check nd see if you have required Codecs as well. Download KLite codecs pack, which is best... n see if it works.
i've already checked that, and it's not. it says '4 changes remain'. i've tried some days ago with a dvd and it played ok, and now the very same one doesn't.
Wats that "4 Changes Remain"? Also do u get any sort of errors when u try to run a DVD Disc? Check in your Event Viewer as well if there are any latest errors..(RightClick MyComputer > Manage > Events)
Ahh! thanks Dave, now I got wat he is talking about... Download this player VLC media player for Windows, it is open source and region free player will hopefully make ur DVD's working...
I've tried with other dvd and it worked! don't know why, but the problem is with some dvd i've copied... but i could watch them a week ago!!! it doesn't even recognise them the file manager, i can't explore the files...
