Hi, this is my first post on these forums. Out of the blue, I started having this stuttering problem while I was playing a game. It never happened before, so I closed the game thinking that it was the program, but now its even windows that has been acting this way. My mouse seems to skip across the screen and my music is stuttering. I ran virus/adware scans even registry mechanic to see if they might fix it. Nothing. I decided to restart my pc, and noticed the windows loading screen taking about 4-8 minutes to finish loading. It seems to stutter when applications are being opened or loading content. I have a feeling it might be either my RAM or HD that is the problem. Thanks for all the help in advance.
Hey there, welcome to our heavenly forums. It sounds to me like its your harddrive, id recommend downloading a HDD and Ram diagnostic tool and running it. This will do both: Application - Diagnostic tools for RAM and HDD - 6917050900 - Downloads - iStart - platform_honeymoon_istart - Desktop It says its for PB but be assured it will work for all computers. Hope that helps Aaron
Windows stuttering and mouse cursor skipping... Windows slow loading... Exactly what happened when two of my previous Intel CPU's failed. If the problem is your memory, you'd be plagued with more than just stuttering. Worse - no stuttering, just plain errors, restarts, blue screens, and eventually a windows death. Like I say, the exact thing happened when my two intel CPU's were imminent to die. Try and find a friend with the same socket CPU and test. Do try the HDD and memory tests though, it's a process of elimination. Regards, Mike
