Hi all Have a weird problem with a new shuttle style pc i've made for my lil sister. Worked fine for a while while i loaded windows etc, then now it doesn't boot. it instead gets past the post and tries to boot off the HDD. At this point it resets itself. First i thought corrupted disk but it does the same thing when i try to boot off the windows cd. however from the memtest cd it boots fine. didn't have a chance to let it complete 100% on the memtest but it seemed ok. I had thought dodgy memory but i have 2 sticks in there and it wouldn't boot off the wincd with either stick on its own. Specs: Shuttle SD32G2 barebones pentium 2 duo 1.86 2gig sticks of match ocz value ram some ati card X1300 i think usual 320Gig Sata HDD and pioneer DVD writer Any ideas? i'm hoping its not the barebones...
1. What PSU u have got in there??? 2. Check the Temperatures in BIOS when it restarts... 3. Can u boot in Safe Mode??
1. Part of the shuttle barebones (case, mb, psu and cpu fan) 2. 48'c can take it a lot further down if i turn up the fans 3. nope won't let me get that far.
PSU info required because it might be happening just because of the BAD PSU... For more info on PSU go...[link=http://www.hardwareforums.com/power-supply-sticky-5218/]here[/link] Another thing u can try is resetting the BIOS.
