Hey people I just got DSL high-speed for the first time I am happy did speed test toped out at 1277k but it was between 957-1277k I am happy!

problem however I am using an actiontec 701 standard for TDS high-speed users , and I had to phone support because I had set up my desktop local IP to be static and had forgot and modem was trying to use its DHCP server to assign my pc a IP wutever

and I have a linksys wrt54gl router and I know I am using PPPoE and I had to log into the modems IP address and type in email and password , but I had talked top support and he said off the record this is not supported by TDS but I should set up the modem as a bridged connection

and I don not know what that’s is but I was in the modem and in WAN setting it says Connection type and I had the selection from PPPoE to bridged and other junk but I was thinking he meant set the router up for PPPoE and have email and pass in the router and have the modem bridge the connection

tried did not work , but I thought occurred the modem has a DHCP server and my router and act as one , Which one should I use?

any tips on what to do , also anyone got info on how to speed up my DSL like tweaks or etc.....

    Thanks
