Hi, I have a webcam and i would like to use it :chk:, but when I plug it in a little message pops up from bottom and says that the USB bandwidth has been exceeded. My webcam used to work and i cant remember hanging anything recently except something to do with my network. All that is plugged into this computer is, modem, wireless keyboard and mouse, and something called 'PSP WIFI Dongle'. I recently disabled my modem through its properties and plugged my webcam in and it worked fine. But then I enabled my modem again and it wouldn't work. I have tried plugging it in to most of my USB ports most of which are seperate from my modem. Anyone know anything about USB bandwidth exceeded?
are your keyboard and mouse USB ? are you using USB2? are you using an unpowered hub?[ot]if yes, consider using a powered hub[/ot]
Here's what Microsoft have to say Kallb. Bandwidth Exceeded. EDIT: I apologise Kallb that is for Vista but I'll leave it for anyone who has the same problem with regard to Vista. Obtain a powered hub similar to the one below.
