im currently looking for parts to build my system, but dont know what mobo to get, im goin to get an intel E6600 or intel e6700, what is the best mobo for this and for a crossfire set-up
Something based on the Intel 975X, like Intel's own 975XBX2KR or Asus P5W-DH. If you can find it, the DFI ICFX-3200 T2R/G, the only motherboard with the ATi CrossFire chipset (as opposed to the Crossfire multi-GPU system). All are in the $200-250 range. While Intel 925X chipsets do support Crossfire, Core 2 support is not. There are a few P965 boards that also support this, and those are probably the cheapest. Actually, AMD has some info...
The P5K just came out, and there might be some things that need to be ironed out with a BIOS release.
so eventually bios will work fine with vista?; im close on getting the p5k deluxe; wats the next best thing besides the p5k deluxe, cause theres a few out there from ASUS, p5b, p5w..
The BIOS interfacing with Vista isn't the issue. However, things like memory compatibility (Gigabyte and MSI P35 boards seem to have some issues with Corsair Dominator DDR2) can come into play. If you want one, fine, but understand that early adopters sometimes have a few more bugs to work out that those who wait a few months. Oh, and read some reviews. They're a little scarce right now, but those would give you an idea of what you're up against or if any issues would affect you.
