Hi all, just for a lil fun I thought I would create a Thread where you can post your computer setup and people can comment on them and you can boast etc. :chk: http://i104.piczo.com/view/1/6/e/1/1/1/l/v/6/8/5/l/img/i276747372_49110_5.jpg Thats mine you can see the blue case fan on the side and my wired XBOX 360 pad I use for PC games to give me an edge in games (Best controller I have EVER had) and my awsome gaming mouse and if you look at the monitor, (I know, its a crappy Dell CRT 17", ugly as hell) You can make out I am infact on this website hope to see the rest of your setups
http://www.hardwareforums.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=656&c=5 That was my setup back at Uni - now I just use my laptop(s) wherever in my Dads flat as I just put a Wireless router in.
That's a Macbook (2.0GHz Core 2 Duo, 4MB Cache, 1GB DDR2-667MHz RAM, 80GB SATA HDD, SuperDrive) and an external HDD in a media enclosure (Hitachi HDD, 500GB, 16MB Cache in an enclosure that supports AV, VGA and Composite out and control via a remote - for media playback direct through a screen without a computer)
woah thats pretty sweet, I take it your into media purposes with computers. Wonder if anybody else is going to post their setups.
Well I bought the drive as I needed a single place to store my files - having multiple copies on 2 laptops was a hassle - then I saw that media drive and I liked it, I've not used it for media purposes yet, but it'll be useful for backups without a computer (media card reader on the front) for a friend too (co-designer and photographer with me) I use my laptops for many things, not just media, my use ranges from simple Internet browsing to programming / web scripting and designing...
What's the other laptop matt? Looks a lot like mine - Acer Aspire 5051AWXMi and what O/S is it running? Thomas
I'll post up a pic of mine when I get some film in my camera, I'll have to clear the desk somewhat first, it kinda acts as a second storage area.
Got a new monitor today - it's also got TV Tuner, HDMI, Composite, Scart, VGA and AV inputs: It's not a great picture but here it is connected to my Acer Laptop: http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/5162/dsc00868sg1.jpg It's running at 1680 x 1050
Woah, owen, that is mental, nice 360, I got one, I take it, you plug it into that monitor using that HD VGA connector you buy when you want to play it. Lovin the laptop too, you look minted there mate. Matt I like your LG monitor, what is it? like 2x" widescreen? I'm still on a 17" CRT here that goes to 1280x1024 @ 60Hz, as you can see above. And ya got a laptop, you people are minted! Or is it just that I am 16 and you lot are older and can afford this kind of stuff
I'm not any older... but this is all I buy.. computer stuff and games. 360 is hooked up with VGA thing, but I hate it because connector isn't that good and the 360 doesn't support the common 16x10 resolutions of 1680x1050 and 1440x900.
Love that monitor Matt. My pictures are currently uploading. I have a hidden inner geek. Update: So i have the pc, I love the monitor its 19" widescreen. The laptop....PDA.....Ipod (one of) Theres also my PC that i built thats running Kubuntu thats hidden away. Its not hooked up at the moment because of lack of space. Theres also another laptop about but thats ancient. The other half uses it for internet. The internets wireless. Got the modem and router downstairs running Virgin Media (cough) 20mb << yeah right. Oh and chucked a picture of the tv in with the ps2 and wii. Im a gadget freak! Please ignore the carpet, waiting for laminate to be put down as theres paint everywhere
Yeah it's 22" widescreen, full specs are: # Screen Size: 22" # Screen Resolution: 1680x1050 # Response Time: 5ms # Brightness: 300cd/m2 # Contrast: 3000:1 (Dynamic Contrast) # Viewing Angle: 160°h / 160°v # HD Ready 1080i 720p # Interface: HDMI, VGA D-Sub, CVBS (Composite), S-Video, Component, SCART, PC Audio In/Out, RF Antenna Connection # Built in Analogue Tv Tuner: Yes # Remote Control: Yes # HDCP Compatible: Yes I bought it because I wanted a big computer screen and a TV - a 16:9 TV screen would have a lower resolution and isn't as good at displaying text and PC images. That TV was a great compromise. Plus I love the fact is has so many input options Thanks - I got it here. Hehe I have a few too many gadgets too, and I have Virgin Media Broadband (4Mbps) - although I only really get that speed at times, not 100% of the time.
What type of modem have you got? I work for them so might be able to get you a new one if you need it
[ot]oooo nice, it's a cable modem - NTL 250 I think it's called - I have it connected to a Netgear WGT624 Router.[/ot]
