    Hi guys,

I have recently fitted a K7S741GXMG-6L Mobo as a replacement for my ASUS A7N266-VM. I am using all the original peripheral components e.g keyboard & mouse etc. which all worked fine with my old setup.

I have the usual niggles that I am working thro', but the wife thinks this one is the most important one and has to be sorted first under pain of death and the withdrawal of certain privilages, so here goes.

When I switch off the PC, the light on the optical mouse stays lit as does the NUM lock light on the keyboard. Both plug into the PS/2 ports.
The keyboard & mouse were bundled with the PC when I bought it 4 years ago and are from the Logitech Intili range.

I have installed drivers for both but no change. I can’t find anything in BIOS which might change this.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks in advance

Does the computer have a button on the back of the power supply to turn off?
I have seen this before with the mouse, but not the keyboard.
There should be a option in the bios to turn off as well. Other than that,
    I am not sure.

    No it doesn't.

This is the first computer that i've had this trouble with. it seems a bit extreme to switch off the power supply just to cut off the light to the mouse.
trouble is, the supplied manual is naff, probally the worst i've seen. It gives the absolute minimum information for installation purposes and thats it. No trouble shooting, nothing. Nothing on the CD either which is really disapointing.

I seem to remember seeing the option in bios to turn nums lock off on start up. I'll try switching that and see what happens.

If you hear of anything let me know.

When your system is plugged in, regardless of wether it's turned on or not, there is some standby power running. You may be able to disable it, which is fine if you're not using remote power up or other remote access instances. Either way, it just sounds like the standby power is enabled.

    Thanks,

I have already looked around for a way of switching off standby power. A friend of mine suggested samething, but there doesn't appear to be that facility that I can find.

    Thanks anyway
