My have a Windows XP computer with a FAT32 system i have done the win xp setup and down the FAT32 partition (on another computer) and when i put it in my PC i have a message come up saying A:// Drive error and i dont have a floppy or Dvd or cd rom drives plugged in or there.
[OT] Firstly, Please DO NOT double post. I read both your posts at the same time, so posting it twice was a waste of both of our time. [/OT] Why are you installing windows onto your hard drive with another computer? you will need to put the hard drive on the computer that you want to install windows onto and install it using that computer.
I must agree, that will never work.. Unless That computer is Indenticial to yours. You have to setup that hard drive ON Your computer.
Installing an OS is custom to every computer, so to say. That is, an installation of Windows is "personalized" to your hardware. Installing an OS on one system and moving the hard drive to another will not work, as they have said above. I'd convert to NTFS though, is there a reason youre using FAT32 as your file system?
the system on which you installed XP will have the drives & when you disconnected the HDD & connected it to the other system the XP installation is expecting to see everything that was connected when it was installed, doing an installation like this will only ever work if the system you installed XP on has the same chipset (mobo), grafx etc. etc. and even then it sometimes won't work Edit: you need to install XP onto the system that will be using that version of XP
