lets say i want to power more than 4 (HDDs, CD/DVD drives) in my computer but my power supply only has 4 power slots/plugs for them....is there anyway for me to hook up another PSU to use for them or would i have to get a new bigger/better PSU?

You can either upgrade the PSU or get a few of these carefull about overloading a crappy PSU though :)

Yep you have to take care of when you use power splitters. It can cause lots of problems, not only for the CPU for all other devices as well. Specially for chip sets on main board.

I would just get a better psu, it's probably less stressful
