Defective Mother board!!!

    Hello Everyone

    Hope anyone could help me with this matter

    After PC power on nothing is happen even the power fan is not turning on
    but mother Board LED in life.It comes to my conclusion that the mother board is defective.The cause of this problem is power surge and I tried to change the power supply but still nothing happen.
    My question is to where part of the mother board could really affected with that cause.Most of my PC where on in that condition.

    Pls. Help me with this matter

    the motherboard is 1 possible culprit, but, also consider the PSU also many motherboards will not power on unless they have RAM, CPU & grfx card inserted

    it is very important to only use a powerful PSU and wattage doesn't mean much as i've heard of some decent brand 350W PSU being able to power more stuff than a crappy / generic 500W PSU

    BTW: if the PSU comes free with a case / chassis then your PSU is generic (and usually crappy)

    Well, if you see any burnt marks on the motherboard PCB, that's a clue right there. However, you may not see any physical signs because an IC may have been nuked, and without knowing which ones, it's going to be fairly difficult to find out.
