memory problem

    i have a asus p3cs motherboard with 128mb rdram running wxp. i recently purchased 1gb (2x512mb) of infineon pc800-45 ecc rdram. this is the capacity of my mobo. it posts fine (recognizes 1gb ram) loads scsi bios and drivers then freezes when windows starts to load. can anyone help

    Is this two chips or one ? Are you running 2 -512's or just 1-1024 chip.
    If you are running 2-512s, then remove one and try it, then remove that one and try.. you could have one bad one..

    i have 2- 512mb rdram and they will only work in pairs

    So if one is bad, then both are bad...Thats not to cool to have like that then..

    i had the same problem with my old pc, you have to update your bios and whatnot... can turn into a bit of a mare - spent the whole time on the phone to the warranty folk and ended up having to wipe my hard drive - definitely worth getting sombody who knows their stuff to look into it rather than try it yourself if your uncertain!
