In add or remove programs in XP. I have remnants of a program that is removed from the computer, that I'm not able to remove from add or remove programs. Instead of showing the "change/remove" button it shows the words "used rarely" It gives no removal option at all. When I try to use ccleaner to remove it. It shows an error screen with a Yellow triangle an exclamation mark in it; Saying Error 1316 A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\WINDOWS\Installer\Far cry.msi far cry is the program that by the way is removed from the computer. I've tried to follow the address to the program but it doesn't exist. Need some help.

If the file isn't there, that would explain why there was a problem reading from it!!

I suggest you put the Far Cry disk in, and see if there is an uninstall option, if not, re-install the game and then try to uninstall.

btw, why get rid of Far Cry?? It's the best game ever!!

You could also just remove the installation folder of Far Cry, and then use Windows Installer Cleanup to get rid of the installation files and entries in the add/remove programs section.
