My System spec: Intel E8200 Geforce 8800GTS Asus P5N-E SLI Cooling: Zalman Reserator kit + XSPC 120 radiator Core temps (idle/load): CPU - 57/70 GPU - 57/80C to 90C Coolant temp In 35.5 Out 36.5 What can be the cause of the large temperature difference between the cores and coolant? I use silver-based thermal grease, and the contact seems reasonable.
for some reason those temps are a little high. But I don't know what software you are using either. To help get the temps to equal out "lapping" the cpu and water block might help. After lapping applying just the thinest amount of paste is needed. Making sure mounting is properly secure is easy. When fastened down grab the water block and give it a twist. If it moves it is NOT tight enough. If it seems like your giving it a considerable amount of force and it doesn't move it is fastened properly. Here's some lapping pics...... http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj71/ShrimpBrime/DSCN3223.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj71/ShrimpBrime/DSCN3178.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj71/ShrimpBrime/DSCN3143.jpg
doing such will not improve ur temps considerably, that is a terribly cooling loop you have there, are u at stock clocks or have u overclocked?... well to bring down temps about 5c or more get tx-2 thermal paste (it is the best, better then mx-2 or as5)
