Has anyone heard of an IE7 bug where it just starts opening new tabs and won't stop? It eventually crashes the machine since it runs out of memory, climbs about 10MB per second in memory usage for iexplore.exe.

I hadn't heard of it until you posted. Since then I googled it and got several hits, but nobody seems to know what is causing it. I take it this is happening to you? If so, you should try "reseting" IE7 through the Tools menu.

Never heard of it either. You might also want check out Tool > Manage Add-Ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons. Disable anything suspicious. Also uninstall any toolbars you don't use

Not to be a jerk, but maybe switch to Firefox or Opera? Both are more secure, faster, more reliable, and more standards compliant. Not trying to proselytize, just trying to help. :)

I will have to agree with you,IE is one of the worst browsers to use, I mainly use Firefox or Opera myself, So I guess we both are in he same category...
