I am a novice at computing and seek some advice please. I am aware that I should back up my files/photos etc but am unsure of the best method. I did start to use discs for the photos but this took an age. Would it be best to use an external hard drive or possibly a memory stick? In either case which is the best make at reasonable cost. My pc's hard drive capacity is 37gb with 8gb unused.
    Many thanks.

I'm running on XP and use the 'copy to cd' option within 'my pictures'. Part of the problem is that I have about 60 folders with an average size of 250mb. I am copying to Memorex 700mb CD-RWs. It just seems that the copy process is very long winded. Are you saying that CDs are a safer back up than external hard drive? If so which are best and can I get them bigger than 700mb?
    Many thanks
