I'm probably going to upgrade soon, and I'm on a budget. Out of these two, which would be better?

    AMD system:

    Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.1ghz - $89
    Foxconn A7GM-S AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G Motherboard - $67
    G.Skill DDR2 PC8500 2gb - $36

    Intel system:

    Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0ghz - $165
    Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P45 Motherboard - $103
    G.Skill DDR2 PC8500 2gb - $36

I've done some research, and while I believe the Intel system would be quicker, it is over $100 more, and since I'm on a pretty tight budget this is pretty important lol.

I currently have an EVGA 9800 GTX+ for a video card, and a Rosewill 600W power supply.

    This is a gaming PC.

    Any suggestions?

Definitely the Intel rig is much better even though it costs $100 more but in my opinion it will work very well with your 9800GTX and it will be more future upgradeable.

BTW why not shop around and try to reduce the extra cost????

Those are prices from Newegg. Do you know any other places that would be much cheaper?

I'm sorry i don't shop on US retailers but im sure a simple google search would give you the result of many online shops.
