Hey guys i just got a Bose sound system for my computer and i wanted to buy a sound card that can really push these things to their capacity. I have around ~$100 right now to spend for one but i am unsure of which card is the best bang for the buck these days. I do my shopping on Amazon.com or Newegg.com. I do play a lot of games but getting more FPS is really not a concern of mine right now. I am just interested in pure sound quality.

    Current Specs:
    E8500 ~ 4.0ghz x2 overclocked
    ASUS P45 Motherboard
    8800GT 512MB OCed
    4gb DDR2 RAM
    500gb SATA 3.0 Western Digital x 2
    On board sound card lolz

Oh and Windows Vista Home Edition 64bit

You did not specify whether you are looking for a stereo or surround sound capable sound card. If the former is the case, I'd recommend you shoot for an M-Audio Audiophile 2490 (assuming its got x64 compatible drivers). Its probably one of the best sound cards you can get for around £50. It does away with the gimmicky (useless) features of soundcards such as the X-FI and just provides an excellent sound - which in my opinion is what a sound card is all about. I am expecting mine around Christmas time and will pair it with my absolutely awesome Roth Audioblob 2 2.1 speaker system
