Some info: I am building a CD tower for a record company. I am upgrading the computers main board, power supply, memory. Also I am adding a PCI SATA RAID card, 4 CD\DVD\light scribe burners, and the HDD. I am hoping I can salvage the Pentium 4 processor from the old machine. I can get the specs on the processor if needed. Are all these hardware components compatible: CD Burn - Pioneer DVR-1910LS/DVR-113KG 20x DL DVD±RW Drive w/LightScribe SATA Card - SuperBiiz.com - Adaptec 1420SA 4-Port SATA2 RAID Controller Card, Bulk Main Board - PCPROGRESS.com HDD - PCPROGRESS.com Memory - Newegg.com - Kingston 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory PSU - SuperBiiz.com - Seasonic SS-500ES 500W ATX12V ACTIVE PFC Power Supply Is the wattage correct for all the drives that will in the PC? I have linked the parts that I have picked out, if you could take to the time to look at them. It would be helpful! I am linking this question to this previous thread. Building a Cd burner tower, Is my thinking correct?
The greater good of the specs fit however, the SDRAM you selected has 240pins and the Abit Motherboard carries 184dimm pin, no DDR2, looks like standard dual channel memory. You can save some money by not getting the RAID controller as well, the Motherboard itself supports 4 SATA drives and can function raid 0 or 1 self sustainingly, all you would really have to get for that is a cheap floppy drive to hook in to make a RAID disk on. As always, its recommended to wait for a second opinion, but thats my 2 cents!
