My mobo currently runs PC10600 RAM, and I accidentally ordered Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL which is PC10666 to upgrade from 4GB to 8GB RAM, will I just be running them slightly nerfed or will it be incompatible?
hi it will still work providing it's the correct ddr e.g. 1, 2 or 3 also aslong as the voltages arn't within a big range of each other this can cause stability issues or risk of damaging the modules. but if there are very smiliar in voltage or the same, the memory controller will just clock the frequency of all modules to the lowest frequency module you have installed. so in your case all modules will run at 1333mhz (pc3-10600)
