Hello everyone, I'm new to this forums and I'm looking for an upgrade advice. So my PC is Acer Aspire M1641, and yeah it's not custom made. It came with 250W PSU Last month I upgraded my RAM to 4GB (from 1GB). Now I want to upgrade my Video Card. BUT... Since the PSU is only 250W, I am now wondering, can the PSU handles a new VGA? That's why I chose to upgrade RAM first because I wasn't sure about the upgrade. Will "Green Edition" Video cards works? EDIT: I'm trying to keep the budget as low as possible, so I'm not planning to buy a new PSU just to upgrade Video Card. Unless It's a MUST.
You MAY be able to get away with a Radeon 5670 or a Geforce GTS240 but I would still get a new PSU. Production line PC's are not renowned for there cooling capabilities either so don't plan on anything more than the above cards or you will introduce alot of heat to your little case. I learnt a LONG time ago that budget and PC don't go hand in hand. If you want to game then get a GOOD PSU. A Quality 550W Corsair PSU can be had for 100 bucks and will allow you to use any current mid-range card.
Ah well, I guess I need 200 bucks to upgrade. TIME TO SAVE MAH MONEY! Haha~ Anyway thanks for your help
