connection between the pc and reader /writer

    hi every body i new to the forum and i hope i have posted this in the right section i appriected that you will properly not no what the customizer 2000 is (machine embroidery software ) i have the customizer 2000 from new about 8 years have not used the customizer much perhaps 1/2 dozen times anyway have just set up a craft room now all the kids have grown up and left home and thought i would set it all up . so i set up an old pc which runs xp( hp pavillion a309uk ) every thing ok untill i go to write to the card and it tells me communcation with reader writer then it comes up check the connection between the pc and reader /writer confirm your hardware or software setting
    i also have scan and sew pc but it has no cables but will work with customizer cables but that comes up with the same message ???? :doh: any ideas i have told the reader /writer what channel to use (port 3 ) as it does not recognize any of the others any help would be great but im not very computer savvy so any replys in english please:chk:

    Hi,

    Have you tried downloading patches from the vendor Janome? to see if they help? This one is supposed to help it run on windows xp and vista machines. Also, you can check out this thread as well, specifically the last post by Inducer. He talks about checking the com ports to be sure they are set up Janome Forums - DIGITIZER 2000 AND VISTA

    From what I understand this is software that writes to a memory card via a serial cable, which you then place in a sewing machine like a camera flash card? I am not sure if you need a driver for the box, you may want to check in device manager to see if the device is recognized when it is connected to your computer.

    hi thank you for the reply i do have the latest update of the software and i would not no how to check the device manager lol
