Hello, I am currently choosing parts for a new PC and I have so far decided to get these (for a number of reasons). Intel Core i5 760 (Quad Core) One of these three GPUs (we are talking 1GB) (It will probably be Gigabyte N460, maybe I should ask you which one is the best in the Video Card forum?): Gigabyte N450 128bit (GigaByte GV-N450-1GI 1GB GDDR5 128b PCI-E) Palit N460 Gigabyte N460 But I have a question: In a store in my town (Sofia, Bulgaria) the guy told me that this Motherboard is a good choice (he said it is very good considering the low price that it has) for these Processor and Video Card: GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1156 - GA-P55-UD3L (rev. 2.3) Gigabyte P55-UD3L (GA-P55-UD3L) It is Socket 1156, should be OK for i5 760 (I hope at least this is right). The question is if this Motherboard works with NVidia video card and if two same video cards can be plugged in it (SLI)?? In Gigabyte's site it says "Support for Software ATI CrossFireX™ technology only". In Short: Is this Motherboard OK for these CPU & GPU and will it support 2 NVidia GPUs? (although I will get only one such Video Card, but I wanna know if I can easily upgrade in the future) Thanks for the help in advance!
Hi, According to the cpu support chart from that website, the motherboard can use the i5 760 processor. It should also be able to run one of the NVidia based video cards you are looking at. However, since the chipset is geared for crossfire only, you would not be able to run 2 NVidia based cards in SLI mode. If you wanted a dual GPU system using this board, you would have to use two ATI based cards instead.
