While it won't prevent you from having to type and format your document again, a having a hardcopy will at least ensure you have the contents of the file -- and that is better than having nothing at all!

To be completely honest with you, i haven't the slightest idea what you just wrote, but i got a kick out of it, lol. It sounds like something Charlie Sheen would say at one of his parties...
Anyway, if you could be a bit more clear on what you previously wrote i'd be more than happy to help...

    Hi,

One way of doing this is to put the drive in another working computer and slave it to the primary hard drive or plug it in to another sata port so it acts as a secondary drive. Boot to the working computer's normal hard drive, and then as long as the index/file tables are not damaged on your inaccessible hard drive, you should be able to copy the data over provided that you didnt do any encryption or set special permissions on the bad hard drive. Another way you can do this is to load a linux live distribution operating system to a CD or USB stick that can read NTFS file structure, boot to it, and then save the data you need to a memory stick. There are also various rescue disks out there that can be downloaded or purchased as well, but the easiest way would be to put the drive as a secondary in an already working computer(provided that the drive is not physically damaged and the file tables are all intact).
