I was going to try to rebuild using an exisiting motherboard and processor, but they are out of date enough that I would like to see what I can't build from scratch. I have a case already (nice size, can fit quite a bit in there).

I have about $500 to spend.

My wish list is very small - to be able to play fairly graphic intense games, and to be able to burn DvDs.

A variety of opinions/suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you very much.

    Motherboard - CPU Combo. $164.99
    GPU. $154.99
    RAM. $49.99
    Burner. $23.99
    CPU Heatsink. $49.99
PSU - Hard Drive Combo. $109.98

    = $553.93 + $15.37 shipping = $569.3

    Total after rebates - $569.3 - $30 - $7 - $20 = $512.3

I know its not $500, and yes there are taxes which would amount to another $45 or so... But we can make adjustments. Some side notes - i tried finding a motherboard that included USB 3.0 and SATA III but i couldn't find one within your budgets. PSU is sufficient enough to power up this setup. Also, i think the PSU-Hard drive combo and RAM i found should be left untouched. They're great deals. Burner is the best and cheapest i found. We can change the motherboard and CPU but we would probably sacrifice performance for price. Your call buddy!

Let me know what you think.
