Karan (islove) is that really you ? well back- skutt14 me sideways, with a pickaxe handle! why do you want a NAS that comes with software [ot]Win boy[/ot] genarally Bufallo NAS's are usually resonably priced. personally i have an old LinkStation Lite (LS-CHL) which will have Debi on it and any OSS i choose to throw at it, when i decide to reassemble it & sort this WRT3500L with tomato on it but a disabled DHCP server :doh:

I would like to keep my data in RAID.....I like your server idea but it requires lot of space....Debi....any Linux operating system...i dont know how to use!, data i wanna keep on the hard drive are my pictures, which i dont want to lose More suggestions??
probably cos i'm "STILL" learning stuff and don't usually have time 4 HWF i meant i have an old LinkStation which will have Debian or other firmware thrown at it. and DHCP is disabled by default so i used DHCP server in old Zyxel P660H-D1 to access WNR3500L I might use WNR3500L as a dev board, dunno, yet! well, have you considered just slinging another HDD in the box ? atleast you are still up with computer stuff....I have no time for computerz as m too busy with my business.... but how do you store your data?? do you have RAID system in it??? Sata HDD? fast enough on network?? second place in total number of posts....if you check the members list.... on the right hand side you are on number 2...you got the second most posts over here... what do you actually do (job) well I've 2 :swear: (Win boxes) both with SATA HDD and a few dismantled boxes (mostly IDE) a dismantled NAS (SATA inside) I'm curious about RAID and RAIN (multiple NICs, kinda similar to RAID), USB pens now you just trying to give me big head [ot]but which head[/ot] & you'd think i would know what i was talking about by now, wouldn't you no idea, could have being BTW: I've come a long way for a plank
this one is very cheap.... http://www.freenas.org/.and seems to be quite often used by other people so... Perhaps if you have some spare time left.... I havent started building my own because im a little new to this and i am first planning to build a home-router using alpine ,but it was the best one I,ve and often mentioned I found during on of my nightly research sessions.
