hello people , i have 2 RAM sticks , one of them works perfect in both of motherboard's slots but the other one gives a blue screen of "memory_management" sometimes whether it runs with the good one or when its running on its own. fixes i tried : resat my BOIS. cleaned both slots and the RAM sticks with an eraser. cleaned the whole case from dust. my specs : Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-S2 rev 1.00 Athlon II X2 240 2.80 GHz (2x2GB) kingstone DDR3 1333 MHZ PowerColor Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 WIN 7 Ultimate 64-bit will i just throw this bad ram in a trash ? p.s: i have my latest BIOS update but i cant run it on my 64-bit windows and i cant boot it on a flash memory.
well as you've identified the bad stick you have no need for Memtest, so yeah, just throw it and get another stick of the same type (DDR3) capable of running at either the same speed (1333Mhz) or even a slightly lower speed as RAM will run as rast as the slowest stick will allow, so, as you already have 1333Mhz just get 1333Mhz, unless you also want to upgrade in which case consult the mobo manual BTW: cleaning all dust away is good, cleaning the RAM contacts with a pencil eraser is not good as it leaves resideue behind, you are much better using Isoprpol Alcohol and some cotton wool buds (small sticks) which is available from any chemist / pharmacy
