so been having problems with the SATA ports on my motherboard, i will try to explain it as best i can, it doesn't matter if it's a new or used drive, it doesn't matter what port i plug them into they all have the same out come, the drives spin up you can hear it but they wont mount(not using windows) ,ive tryed several drives with to the same outcome, any suggustions or would i be better off just buying a new motherboard ( yes i have another thread on questions for another build)

this is my internet/media machine so i do alot of media collecting and i just lost another hard drive with all my stuff on it again

It does sound bad, did have similar problem in the past that involved replacing the motherboard.

Have you tried using different SATA cables? do the drives get detected under BIOS?

Try turning Off the Computer, Remove the Bios Battery for 10 minutes, Then replace the battery and see if it finds any Sata connections..

Thats odd, i guess they are working fine on another computer?

Maybe try upgrading to latest bios/firmware. If at one point they were working, it could be that the motherboard has gone faulty, would try and RMA if possible.

it is the latest bios version of this motherboard, and ya an RMA would be amazing, but the bored is like 4 years old, and yes the drives worked fine before i hooked them up to this PC, and thats why ive starten having the problems, i think im just gonna say so long to this motherboard and set up and start something else
