    Hi,

My speakers are set up for 5.1 but recently it's only playing the front left and right speakers and none of the others. Realtek for some reason is a problem everytime I have to set it up and this time I'm really at my witts end so I'm hoping someone has some advice of something I have overlooked or don't know about.

The only changes that I have made to my system, is that I recently started using my onboard LAN port which meant enabling it in the BIOS and installing the drivers. I am hesitant to try and uninstall the LAN drivers as I had a battle to get them working as well (For some reason I have a huge battle with this MSI board and drivers). Is there any known issues between the onboard ALC1150 and Killer E2205 Gigabit drivers?

Both in Windows and Realtek HD Audio Manager, when I do the test tones, only the front speakers play even though it shows as being configured as 5.1 Just for clarity, is it supposed to be front pair and rear pair or front pair and side pair (Both windows and Realtek show it as having to be rear when in 5.1 configuration as side is disabled and not selectable).

    I have tried the following:

    - Tried R2.79 & R2.82 drivers as well as fresh downloads from both Realtek and MSI.
    - Swapped the analog cables on the back plate and sub (All speakers do work as I have tested them in turn, in 2.1 configuration)
    - nVidia HDMI drivers aren't installed so there shouldn't be any hi-jacking going on?
    - Disabled the LAN port in the BIOS

What I have noticed is that both Killer and Realtek is using the same IRQ though I'm assuming this should not be an issue due to IRQ sharing?

    System specs:

    Mobo: MSI 970 Gaming
    Sound: Realtek ALC1150
    OS: Windows 10

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide

Quick update, still not working but I have noticed something weird. Kinda shocked I didn't notice this but I guess I was so focused on getting the rear speakers to work when clicking on them in the control panel that I didn't realize it ... When playing the test sound for the front speakers, the sound is going to ALL speakers yet when I click any of the rear speakers there is no sound. It's as though "Speaker Fill" or the "Matrix" button on the volume control is turned on but theyre not. Even if either was on, wouldn't it still play when clicking on the rear speakers?

To summarize, it seems to be doing a speaker fill when I click on the front speakers but no sound when clicking the rear speakers. Speaker fill is also not what I am after as that is artificial surround and not playing the surround as it was originally recorded.

    Hope this makes sense :p
