PC4400 256x2 dual channel ram problem

hi guys, I just bought PC4400 dual channel ram 256x2mb and for some reason my computer is reading it as 256mb and not 512mb. I checked the sticker label on both of the ram and it say 256mb on both. am i suppose to set something up in bio?

dual channel just means they are exact same. Try switching the slots around, using them one by one in slots to try and see if one is defective. Just switching slots around should do it

can you try any factory preset "Default' If you will, values in your bios?

i tried all that and nothing happens, still says 256mb

looking at your system specs why did you get the PC4400 ram? Am I correct in saying this is your motherboard http://www.ecsusa.com/products/k7s5a.html

you have 4 DDR DIMM sockets! two black and two blue, you have to have the memory in the correct two sockets.
