i want to test how fast my raptor really is compared to my other 7200 drives. anybody know of a good way to test hard drive performance?
I'll have to find the link, but Intel's IOmeter is about the best benchmark because it's based on real-world performance. Sandra is a crude synthetic benchmark and doesn't always accurately reflect real performance. It's main advantage is that it gives you scores quickly.
