abit sg-72 mobo problems

    just bought a new mobo. connected everything, no monitor is detected. anyone have this problem with any mobo or specifically abit sg72?

    are you sure everything is connected properly?

    If its your first PC, and you replaced the motherboard then it is likely you plugged something in wrong. Check everything is pushed firmly down.

    Make sure your CPU and HSF is properly seated.

    Does the monitor work on another machine?
    Is the monitor plugged in?
    Is the monitor on?
    Is the monitor hooked up to the VGA port or video card?
    Are you getting any beeps (more than 1 short beep)?

    Generally, Abit is pretty good, and I haven't heard anything specific on the SG72. Any manufacturer is going to have a board that slips through quality control or gets damaged en route to the customer, but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion just yet. I'm asking dumb questions simply because it's the silly little stuff that people (including myself) forget about.

    yes thank you. i have checked and double checked everything but the cpu. will try reseating it.---the monitor is a well known monitor and i use it currently on my other pc..
