this is the error i get when trying to install a few things that were already on this same computer, C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications.can any body help

I had this problem a while back I think I fixed it by opening notepad and saving a blank page as autoexec.nt and copying it to C:\windows\system32. Let me know if this works because there may have been other steps that I have forgotten.

yep try putting your windows cd in

Go to start + run + type cmd

type in

expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\config.nt_ c:\windows\system32\config.nt
expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\command.co_ c:\windows\system32\command.com
exit

EDIT: I do have some more steps if that doesnt work but I think that should.
Tell me if it works

you kinda lost me on that one?expand cd-rom drive letter.do i write that in that way or put the drive letter in F:\? cornfused

just type that in command
eg where it says expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\
i would put expand E:\

Well I thought it worked,it did let me load my cd burning software but the program does not reconize my cd drives now,and I still cant load my games.did the comands you gave me have to be entered in the order you gave them to me?because i put the first one in wrong and re entered it last?

I'm not sure i've never entered them in the wrong order but I would assume that shouldn't be a problem. Your cd burning software sounds like its a problem with drivers or with the actual prgram but im not sure about the games

I just added an 80 gig external hd,have been moving stuff to it ,could that be the problem, maby i moved somthing i shouldnt have?Oh well thanks again for all your help,
