HP and LiteOn announce first Lightscribe DVD burner

    Palo Alto (CA) - Hewlett-Packard (HP) today announced the first available Dual Layer DVD burner with Lightscribe technology. The LiteOn-built device allows users to write labels directly onto the DVD surface.

    Basically it's a 16x Dual Layer DVD Drive that will also create and burn a high quality image to the non-data side of the DVD or CD :good: - Inside the drive! :O

    I have yet to find any reviews as i believe today is the release date in the UK for it, and it was only released a week ago in the US :)

    Overclockers tend to have stuff in very quickly compared to other retailers :good:

    Anyway, as soon as i receive it i will post and tell you how good it is with examples e.t.c

    You can view the details on how the DVD Burner manages to imprint its image / design / colour onto the CD/DVD HERE - it's just amazing the technology have a read :D

    I've been seeing the HP add about that for quite a while now.

    Are you sure it wasn't released much earlier in the US ?

    Yeah, it was released earlier in the US, for my friend has one in his HP. Pretty much works how I thought it would.

    Yeh i believe its just been release over here in the UK - or so i was told by Tech Support @ OcUK today (it's been on their website as "Pre-Order") but today it was set as In Stock :)
