    Problem With Firefox browser

Hi All, I have windows 98 with Firefox as my web browser, and recently I lost all of my bookmarks, even the tool bar ones. I put a few back for the time being, and now this morning those are gone as well! What can I do? RE install? Ive ran my adaware and my Spybot programs just to be sure that wasnt it, but Im not too good at computers. Help me out...

For some unknown reason i also had this problem yesterday..

I turned the computer on into Safe Mode and ran Scan Disk over night.

Once it was finished i rebooted and it was fine as this found and fixed several corrupt Firefox files.

I've had this problem before and lost all the bookmarks.

do a search for bookmarks.bak it might contain your old bookmarks.

I did find a extenion which backed up your bookmarks everyday but can't find it anymore.

To get or add more buttons, right click a space on the toolbar and click customize, then from there you can add and remove buttons.

My suggestion would be to reinstall anyway. There is a new version of firefox out (v. 1.01) so it would help either way. Here's a link: http://www.mozilla.org/ Hope it helps!

You can also go to view-> toolbars -> customize and just click and drag the icons where you want them followed by the end piece.

You can try downloading and installing the new version. Hopefully that will help.. You can get it here It is easy to install... just double click on the icon and follow the directions. Also, you may want to update and scan with spybot S&D and adaware... just to be sure (always a good thing anyways).

*edit* By the way.. you may want to go ahead and uninstall it first to be sure (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs - then select firefox) Im not positive that this will help, but it's certainly worth a try.
