I'm looking at the nforce II ultra's but unsure of who to go with, i allready have an asus a7n8x deluxe and i've had nothing but problems with it, as well as three others with the same board ... "just unlucky i guess" so i'm thinkin there's someone out there who knows something i don't ... "BEST SOCKET A MOTHERBOARD is ..... *drum roll* "insert here"
I like this one: DFI "LANPARTY NFII ULTRA B" nForce2 Ultra 400 Chipset Motherboard, its fast and it is a great for overclocking. Here is the Link :good:
Before you go through the hassle of replacing the motherboard, what makes you think it's bad? Personally, I wouldn't want to change my motherboard out just to find it was a completely different part that went bad. If you want overclocking, then, yes, that DFI board is a good choice. There's also the NFII Infinity, which is the same thing as the LANparty, but without the suitcase of extras. Outside of the DFI, I've also heard very good things about Abit's NF7-S version 2 (the NF7-S2 or NF7-2 are NOT the same board and don't have good OC options).
ok, well .. what happened was the onboard sound first went on the a7n8x on my current board, the same board on my fiance's machine decided to shit the cpu socket ... i personally have issues with asus now, my 52x cd burner shit itself 5 months after getting it ... i'm sure its not there products, i'm just fed up with it, so i wanna go another flavor, and looking for ideas ....
I'd used the K7N2 Delta-L and that had some memory issues. I'm not sure if I got a bad board or what, but I ended up with the Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and it's been working fine for me since then. MSI and Gigabyte really tend to make good boards. Gigabyte is rather stable and tend to pack in a lot of stuff without breaking the bank.
yeah, after researching some boards i'm gonna try out the GA-7N400 Pro2 Rev 2 and see where that takes me ... the asus a7n8x deluxe was a very nice board ... just fed up with asus ... i'd still recommend it. we'll see what happens now, i'll post when the final thing's built ...
