missing memory

    Hi
    Can any one tell me why the BIOS and windows reports my physical memory as 196MB when there is a 256MB dimm installed.
    Mobo is foxconn K7S741MG-ES, Sis&41 chipset. Sempron 2600 cpu

    The motherboard you has, has a 64MB Onboard Graphics Card.

    This means it's "built into" the motherboard. And since it is a 64MB Intergrated Graphics Card it takes the "64MB's" of memory your graphics card needs from your system memory.

    Hence 256 -64 = 192

    Makes sense, time to buy an additional dimm I think.
