Hi today i had to restore my laptop to factory settings due to a previous
error and the laptop kept freezing i posted about that on another thread. However
when i restored the laptop and started it up i kept getting the following
    error

    lsass.exe
When trying to update a password, this return status indicates that the
value provided as the current password is incorrect.

This message is up for a few seconds then the laptop will restart itself
then the message will appear again then restart itself and i cant even get as
far as logging onto windows anyone got ideas as to the problem and what to
    do??? thank you in advance

    Hi there

I did a bit of search on the net, it seems the best and the easiest solution is to do a clean install of windows. There are other ways of fixing the problem but involve copying over system files from the XP CD to hard drive.

here the link to my google seach [google]"lsass.exe When trying to update a password"[/google]

Unfortunately a clean reinstall will not fix the problem...it's been tried by people with the same problem...try this...

    "System error: Lsass.exe
When trying to update a password the return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct."
